Please click on the ENT Specialist referral form if you are an ENT Specialist and would like to refer your patient to Midcoast Hearing. This referral allows Medicare rebate for your patient.
Accreditation
Midcoast Hearing is accredited with Medicare.
As of 1st March 2023, a referral letter from a GP or medical practitioner will allow ANY patient to receive a medicare rebate for a hearing test. No need to complete a Chronic Disease Management Plan referral for Audiology services any more. This opens up the door for easy access for ALL. Something Midcoast Hearing is very passionate about.
Midcoast Hearing are endorsed to provide Cochlear Implant Assessment and Mapping by Hearing Implants Australia to ensure continuity of care. If you feel a patient is not coping with their current hearing aids, please refer them for a Cochlear Implant Candidacy Assessment. We will provide you with a comprehensive audiology report and work with the ENT surgeons to provide best care.
For your patients who have suffered a hearing loss due to noise exposure at work, Midcoast Hearing is accredited to provide Workers Compensation Hearing tests and hearing rehabilition through SIRA. If a patient has had a claim approved 5 years ago they may be eligible for an upgrade of technology.
Pensioners and Veterans
Midcoast Hearing is Accredited by The Hearing Services Program (previously known as Office of Hearing Services Program) to deliver hearing tests and approved hearing aids to Pensioners and Veterans paid by the Commonwealth Government. As of 1st October 2019, it is NO longer a requirement to have the medical certificate form completed by a GP so as the patient can join the Hearing Services Program.
